Jaystar jumped onto the Moss Stone. He didn't need to gather the clan, they were already there. "Greymist will see to you soon. I would like all fit apprentices to help her. Also, Ashflame and Mistypetal, look for-" He broke off.
"We will." Mistypetal called. She padded over to Ashflame, and the two touched noses.
"All others, wait until Greymist and the apprentices see you."
Brookfrost's eyes were still wide with anger and fear. She turned to Jaystar.
ReplyDeleteSparrowfur turned to Clovermoon when she walked out."Is she okay...?"He asked
Cloudtooth ran as fast as her could to the nursery."Are the kits okay?"He asked Whirlstorm
Rosenight took deep breaths and slighly smiled to herself
Gingerfrost looked over at her kits.Sh sighed quietly
Brightwater breathed in and out to calm herself. She felt bad because of the battle and that all of her family had mates and she did not.
Mistypetal nuzzled Ashflame
Swiftpaw turned to his brother and sisters half purring because he did well in the battle
Vinepaw flicked her tail."I hate battle."she meowed to Blazepaw and Icepaw
Willowkit looked at Tinykit and Duskkit."Is daddy okay?"She asked
Clovermoon tilted her head to the side. "Who?"
ReplyDeleteAshflame purred.
Icepaw woke up in the medicine cat den, and hissed with pain. She tried to open her left eye, only to find that it was covered in cobwebs.
Blazepaw nodded. "No kidding."
Graymist turned at Icepaw's hiss. "You don't want to open that eye," she said softly, wincing as she hobbled over. Her left hind leg was mangled and bloody, and she had put a variety of cobwebs, poultices, and bandages on the gaping wound. "Would you like some water?"
ReplyDelete~Graymist
Crescentpelt licked his wounds.
~Crescentpelt
"Icepaw!"Sparrowfur meowed
ReplyDeleteMistypetal lowered her gaze and started looking.
Whirlstorm nodded and asked her mate, "Are you okay?"
ReplyDeleteMousetail cracked his eyes open and there were no foxes in sight, had we won? He saw other cats were laying on the ground in pain. he waited for help as he tried to bare the throbbing pain in his legs.
"Oh, she's fine." Clovermoon meowed. She touched noses with her mate.
ReplyDeleteIcepaw nodded. "Yes, please."
Ashflame followed.
Brindlelight's back cracked as she stretched, her silver paws groping the hardly packed ground. Pale green eyes blinking, she searched for something to spend her time doing.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw looked up at Brindlelight. He noticed her curves, shining pelt, and bright eyes. He blinked in amazement.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight let out a small sigh of content, ear flicking, before turning her head to the side and noticing Nightclaw watching her, eyes boring into her pelt. The silver she-cat's face flushed as she scrambled her paws together, whiskers twitching as their eyes met for a moment.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw kept the gaze, until he had to wrench his amber gaze away from her's so that he wouldn't die of beauty overload. He looked at his paws, then got up and stretched out long, lean legs.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight cracked a small smile, her tail-tip flicking in amusement, before she licked one of her paws, keeping a small gaze on Nightclaw.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw lightly stepped over to the fresh-kill pile.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight padded slickly over to the fresh-kill pile, following Nightclaw's speed, before bending over and sniffing a rabbit, her whiskers twitching in content at the meal.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw smiled. "Well, hello there." He meowed smoothly.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight jolted slightly, a small clump of rabbit fur on her nose as she blinked up at Nightclaw. "Oh, hello," she replied steadily, a smile gracing across her feminine features.
ReplyDelete"Would you mind if I shared with you?" nightclaw asked. "Despite Newleaf coming, the prey's still pretty short."
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight smiled, her paws shuffling together. "Oh, of course!" she said excitedly, eyes bright. She breathed deeply, keeping her cool. "I mean, yes, that would be delightful." She repeated, keeping a formal attitude.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw snorted. "No need to be all former and proper," he meowed, flicking the silver and white she-cat's ear with his tail.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight flushed. "A bit of a habit of mine," she informed him, pulling out the rabbit and nudging it toward his paws. "Here," she mewed, settling down on the grass. "You take the first bite." She purred, her ear tingling where his tail brushed it.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw smiled. "Thanks." He bit into the juicy rabbit. he swallow. "I haven't had something this good in moons!" He commented. "Who caught it?" he asked, leaning back so Brindlelight could take a bite.
ReplyDeleteShe smiled softly, purring in contentment as she took a bite. "I'm not sure," she said, frowning slightly. "Sparrowfur, maybe?" She leaned back, resting her head on her paws, closing an eye slowly as she rested, waiting again for her turn of the rabbit.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw nodded, taking a bit. After they had finished the rabbit, he began to groom the she-cat's fur. "Hope you don't mind." he meowed.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight let out a smile, resting her head on her paws. "It's fine," she purred, curling her tail over her hind paws.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw smiled and continued to groom the silver she-cat. He licked her ear gently, purring.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight picked up her head, her tail uncurling and slowly stretching. She nudged his head away, smiling. "Want to go for a walk in the forest?" she asked, licking his nose quickly.
ReplyDelete"Sure." Nightclaw purred. He stood, stretching again.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight brushed past him, her tail running underneath his muzzle, before she bounded away, slipping through the gorse tunnel and out into the luscious forest.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw purred and followed the pretty she-cat.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight bounced into the forest excitedly, her eyes wide. "I love walking through the forest," she purred, tasting the air. "It's just a lot of fun to walk around, smelling the new smells. You know?" she asked brightly, her eyes wide with happiness.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw purre.d "Yeah." he meowed. "I love the freshness of the air. It's not heavy with clan scent, just light with my own," he paused. "And the one I share the moment with."
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight smiled light. "Yeah," she paused as well, her whiskers twitching. "It's...nice."
ReplyDeleteNightclaw flicked his tail. "Very." He sped up. "Race you to the lake!"
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight smiled gracefully, bounding after the tom with long strides. Her paws skipped easily over the forest floor, her whiskers brushing back as a gust of wind hit them.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw glanced behind him, seeing the she-cat following him. He faced ahead again, bursting out onto the lake.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight halted, her eyes widening as she looked upon the lake. It shimmered and lapped at the shore in the faint sunlight, causing her to smile.
ReplyDeleteThe silver she-cat bunched her shoulders, before leaping into the cold water, smirking as her legs kicked at the water.
Nightclaw followed suit, leaping in with his powerful black legs.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight let out a long purr, dipping her head into the water. Her fur clung to her skinny frame, which she frowned at, scowling at her tiny waist.
ReplyDeleteGraymist shuffled to the back of the den and came back with a pice of moss soaked in water. "Drink all you want. If you're hungry or thirsty let me know."
ReplyDelete~Graymist
Nightclaw splashed the she-cat, laughing.
ReplyDeleteIcepaw nodded and began to lap up the water.
Brindlelight smirked, flicking a wave of water in the tom's face. She laughed, dipping underneath the water once again.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw dipped under the water, as well. He swam in a tight circle, then pushed off from the bottom and leaped out of the water.
ReplyDelete"Seems weird for a cat," Brindlelight spoke up, a soft purr escaping her lips as she stretched upon a sun bleached rock that sat above the water line. "But I really do love swimming." She let out a long purr, laying at the edge of the rock.
ReplyDelete"Me, too." Nightclaw purred. He slipped up next to the she-cat, feeling his pads, softened by the water constantly pushing at them, scrape against the hard rock. He settled down next to Brindlelight and looked up at the gathering darkness. "Silverpelt will be out soon," he commented.
ReplyDeleteBrindelight followed his gaze, the stars twinkling in the night sky. "You're right," she sighed, resting her head on her paws and unknowingly scooting closer to Nightclaw. "I just want to lay here, you know? I like to hear the lake behind me when I sleep," she murmured, her tail curling over her hind paws.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw smiled. "Me too." He wrapped his tail along to cover his paws and nose. He watched the stars slowly appear. "Where do you think our parents are?" he asked. Then he blushed. "Sorry, I didn't mean to refer to the great battle."
ReplyDeleteHe thought back to when he was just a kit, and a great battle had taken place, between the clan and a large group of badgers. Most cats died. The old leader lost all three of her remaining lives, and the deputy lived just long enough to make Jaybreeze the new leader.
Brindlelgiht smiled sadly. "It's perfectly fine, Nightclaw," she sighed, looking up at the stars with a new expression. "I know my father is," she said after a pregnant pause. She looked down at her paws, resting her head on Nightclaw's fluffy tail. She curled closer into the toms hip.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw let himself relax, breathing in Brindlelight's sweet scent. He smiled and slowly fell asleep.
ReplyDeleteBrindlelight glanced at the sleeping tom for a moment longer, before smiling, snuggling her face deep into his neck and falling asleep, purring softly.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw awoke suddenly as a wave splashed over his pelt. The tide had gone up! "Brindlelight!" He yowled, leaping to his paws. "Wake up!" He fluffed up his pelt as rain began to pour down.
ReplyDeleteCherrycloud padded over to Mousetail. "Hi." She meowed.
