Warriors and Apprentices

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the Moss Stone for a clan meeting!" Jaystar yowled and sat to wait. Soon the cats had filled the clearing. "Today, Blossompaw and Firepaw are due to become warriors.
"I, Jaystar, leader of MossClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turns." He turned to Blossompaw.
"Blossompaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, to defend and protect your clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do." Blossompaw meowed solemnly.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this moment on, you shall be known as Blossomglow. StarClan honors your bravery and skill, and we welcome you as a full warrior of MossClan." Jaystar's eyes shone as he named his apprentice.
Blossomglow smiled happily at the praise, but flashed a glared at Whirlstorm.
Then Jaystar turned to Firepaw. "Firepaw, do promise to uphold the warrior code, to defend and protect your clan, even at the cost of your life?"
"I do." Firepaw's strong and attractive voice echoed around the silent clearing.
"And Sparrowfur, is Firepaw ready to become a warrior?" Jaystar asked, turning to Firepaw's mentor.
"Yes, he is." Sparrowfur meowed, looking at his apprentice proudly.
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this moment on, you shall be known as Firefang. StarClan honors your loyalty and dependability. We welcome you as a full warrior of MossClan."
Jaystar waved his tail for silence. "Also, we found some cats in the forest today. They will be known as Minnowpaw, Hailbreeze, Crowpaw, Pouncepaw, Running_, Leopardpelt, and Spottedkit. Minnowpaw's mentor will be Minnowsong, since Minnowsong is ready for her first apprentice." He allowed the two to touch noses. "Crowpaw's mentor will be Ashflame, since I know, even though he's young, he can teach his apprentice his skill and nobilty." The two cats touched noses. "And Pouncepaw's mentor will be Cresentpelt. I expect Cresentpelt to pass on his wisdom to this apprentice." Jaystar watched for a few seconds, before leaping down from the Moss Stone to congratulate the new warriors.

Going Back

Jaystar yowled loudly. The cats who had found him gathered. "Today we will return to camp." He meowed. "Sparrowfur checked it today, and it is barren, though there is no water." He nodded to his senior warrior. "Also, we need hunting patrols. Featherfrost and Cloudtooth, each of you take out a hunting patrol. Look out for the missing cats, as well. The rest of you, follow me!"

Overflow

Jaystar paced restlessly around camp.
"You can see them now." Greymist's voice meowed.
Jaystar padded in quickly. He looked over his kit(s) proudly.

Cherrycloud and Cresentpelt sprinted into camp. "Run!" Cherrycloud wailed. "The river overflowed!"
"It's coming this way!" Cresentpelt added. His eyes darkened. "And Shadowfrost is beign swept along with it..." He raced for the dirtplace tunnel, then out into the woods, just before a huge wave crashed over camp.
"Get out!" Jaystar screeched.

Rising Rivers

Jaystar skillfully leaped onto the Moss Stone. "Cats of MossClan!" he yowled, bringing forth cats of all ages. "The rain is making the river and lake rise. We must be ready to evacuate at any moment. Shadowfrost, Cresentpelt, and Cherrycloud, go to the top of the highest hill and watch the rivers and lake." The three cats nodded and padded over to each other, conversing quietly.
"Sparrowfur," Jaystar addressed his senior warrior. "You are in charge of getting the other warriors and the elders ready to go. Brightwater, help the kits and apprentices. Ivorypool, you can help her." Jaystar looked across his clan. "Where are Nightclaw and Brindlelight?"
"They went out on a walk, and they haven't come back yet!" Mousetail, who had been guarding the camp, meowed loudly.
"Everyone, keep a lookout for them!" Jaystar meowed. "Also, everyone try to eat at least a little bit of fresh-kill. If there is a flood, it might be a while until we eat properly again." He leaped down from the Moss Stone.
