Jaystar paced restlessly around camp.
"You can see them now." Greymist's voice meowed.
Jaystar padded in quickly. He looked over his kit(s) proudly.
Cherrycloud and Cresentpelt sprinted into camp. "Run!" Cherrycloud wailed. "The river overflowed!"
"It's coming this way!" Cresentpelt added. His eyes darkened. "And Shadowfrost is beign swept along with it..." He raced for the dirtplace tunnel, then out into the woods, just before a huge wave crashed over camp.
"Get out!" Jaystar screeched.

Smokestep gasped, shaking awake Ivorypool. "There's a wave, Ivorypool!" He wasted no time to grab the two kits by their scruffs, nodding toward the entrance of the den, that was slowly beginning to have water creeping inside of it. "Grab onto my tail," he instructed, his voice muffled by her kit's scruff.
ReplyDeleteIvorypool plucked Snowkit from Smokestep's grasp. "I can fend for myself!" She meowed, rolling her eyes.
ReplyDeleteHe blinked, but nodded, holding onto Nightkit and wading with the she-cat, trying to get out of the camp before it overflowed completely. "I was just trying to be helpful!" he yelled to her over the sound of rushing water.
ReplyDeleteRosenight began to panick.She picked up her two kits and padded out.She looked for Jaystar.
ReplyDelete"Don't worry," Ivorypool paused to look at Smokestep. "I still like you." Then she turned and plunged into the waves, swimming strongly.
ReplyDeleteJaystar grabbed a kit from his mate and padded out into the current, pressing his flank to Rosenight's.
Smokestep smiled, before holding his head above the water, making sure that Nightkit was well above the high water. He looked for Ivorypool, smiling as the she-cat waded skillfully in the water.
ReplyDeleteCrescentpelt hissed as a wave bore him up. His paws left the ground, but he was a strong swimmer. Crescentpelt began to swim towards a tree. Once he reached it, he clawed himself up, dripping wet and panting. He kept a close watch on the cats below, ready to jump in and help.

Graymist gritted her teeth as the water swept into camp. She was perched up high on a boulder, a large bundle of herbs beside her. Her leg was aching and it wasn't helping matters.

Cherrycloud scrambled up beside Cresentpelt. "What now?" She asked, her eyes wide.
ReplyDeleteSmokestep looked over his shoulder. "Are you okay, Ivorypool?" he asked, his eyes searching hers for any sign of distress.

ReplyDeleteIvorypool's eyes gleamed. "I'm fine." She meowed calmly.
ReplyDeleteSmokestep nodded, padding side by side with the she-cat and holding Nightkit and Snowkit, making sure not to get the kits wet. "How much further?" he asked her, the gray water sloshing around his sides.
ReplyDelete"I don't know," Ivorypool meowed. She looked forward and noticed that the waves got deeper. "We'll have to swim." She meowed quietly.
ReplyDelete"Do you need any help carrying Snowkit? Or are you good?" Smokestep asked, preparing himself for the big waves that were coming.
ReplyDeleteCrescentpelt shrugged helplessly. "I don't know," he said, turning to Cherrycloud. "I just hope everyone makes it out in one piece."

"I'm good," Ivorypool muttered around Snowkit's long white fur.
ReplyDeleteCherrycloud nodded agreement, then jumped as Quailfall flew toward them, buffeted by the current. Without thinking, she leaped into the air, crossing the water easily and grabbign Quailfall's scruff.
Smokestep braced himself for the big wave that was coming at them.

ReplyDeleteMoonwhisker began panicking as water blinded her eyes. She tried running out of the warriors den, but ran into the side, the warriors den toppling down.

Whirlstorm scrabbled for her kits, Willowkit in her jaws, Tinykit in her paw and Duskkit nowhere to be found.
ReplyDeleteWolffur swam against the current, struggling to stay above water.
Mousetail plunged under water, searching for any bodies. A dark grey kit was swept across his view. Duskkit! He swam for the bundle of soggy fur, but it was swept away from sight.
(you can play her if you want. You were absent so i made it look like she is dead. But hey, everyone LOVES a miraculous recovery!)
ReplyDeleteClovermoon, still in camp, sprinted over to Moonwhisker. "Moonwhisker!" She yelled. "Relax." She soothed. "Come with me."
Fireclaw padded into the slowly water clogging nursery. He grabbed Tinykit. "Where's the third?" he asked around the piece of fluff stuck in his mouth.
Cherrycloud dragged QUailfall to a safe place, then looked around. "Mousetail!" She exclaimed, swimming strongly to the tom. "What's wrong?" She asked, when she saw the look on the tom's face.
Whirlstorm's eyes were filled with fear. "I can't find Duskkit!"
ReplyDeleteWolffur swam toward the limp black body of Shadowfrost. She grabbed his scruff and pulled him away from the current.
Mousetail meowed, "I saw duskkit, but he got swept away. Will you grab my tail, I'm going to find him but i don't want to get swept away."
Fireclaw was shocked, but tried to look calm. "We have to go," he urged the panicked queen.
ReplyDelete"I can do it!" Cherrycloud meowed. She ducked under the water, searching desperately for the kit. She saw it and swam toward it. She grabbed the kit and swam to the surface.
Whirlstorm mumbled around Willowkit, "Not without Duskkit!"
ReplyDeleteMousetail smiled and meowed to Cherrycloud, "Come on we have to tell Whirlstorm."
"Come on!" Fireclaw angrily shoved the she-cat out of camp. He began to swim strongly behind the queen, making sure she didn't stop.
ReplyDeleteCherrycloud nodded, but couldn't swim up. She leaped onto a dry spot. "We'll have to wait for her to come by." She meowed.
Whirlstorm struggled against the current as Fireclaw forced her forwards.
ReplyDeleteMousetail flicked his tail toward Fireclaw and Whirlstrom. "There they are!"
"Whirlstorm!" Cherrycloud yelled. "We have Dustkit!"
ReplyDelete"See?" Fireclaw meowed to Whirlstorm.
Whirlstorm's eyes softened and she swam foward as hard as she could to reach a dry spot and run from the water.
ReplyDeleteMousetail splashed into the water and paddled to space clear of water and called to Cherrycloud, "Come on!"
Fireclaw brought Tinykit to the dry spot and put her down next to Duskkit.
ReplyDeleteCherrycloud followed, easily overtaking Mousetail.
Whirlstorm nuzzled Duskkit and meowed to Fireclaw, cherrycloud, and Mousetail, "Thank you. Now lets go before the camp floods entirely!"
ReplyDeleteCherrycloud nodded and grabbed Tinykit between her teeth. She leaped into the water without hesitation.
ReplyDeleteFireclaw followed quickly, but not before muttering to Mousetail, "Take Duskkit."
Mousetail grabbed the squirming dark grey kit by the scruff and dove into the icy water.
ReplyDeleteNightclaw splashed around in the deep water, struggling to keep afloat.
ReplyDeleteCherrycloud swam strongly next to Mousetail, following the fading scent of Jaystar.
Moonwhisker heard her name being called, and ran after Clovermoon, leg's shaking with fear.
